Put your jewellery on after perfume, lotion and hairspray, keep it away from water, and wipe it with a soft, dry cloth after wearing. Store each piece separately in its pouch so harder stones do not scratch softer ones, and avoid strong heat and knocks against hard surfaces.

Follow the same care as above, and keep them especially clear of water, sweat, chlorine and perfume, which wear the gold layer faster. Clean them with a soft, dry cloth only. Please do not use silver polish, silver dips or abrasive cloths on vermeil, as they can remove the gold.

Any gold finish slowly wears at the points that rub against skin and clothing. Vermeil's thicker gold layer lasts longer than thin plating, and careful wear makes a real difference. If the gold does wear through, the sterling silver underneath can tarnish like any silver.
